Avi Block

​Hello, My name is Avi Block. I am an 18-year-old senior at Fullerton Union High School who specializes in sound design. I was inspired by my dad who works with AV equipment and it looked like a fascinating tech aspect to learn. My interest in sound design was also sparked by my love for music. I love going to concerts and observing what people are doing in the booths mixing mics and designing the light colors. I went through multiple tech jobs before discovering sound design; varying through the set crew, and realizing I'm not the best with power tools. I was also in the prop crew for another show in the same year. I discovered the marketing crew in my sophomore year and almost fell in love with it because of my interest in art and design. Once my junior year hit, I felt like I needed a fresh start in what I wanted to do and considered being in the sound crew. I began as a board operator and was pulled into designing sound for the next season. My proudest design so far is my debut show, Cabaret when I got more in-depth with the creative aspects along with mixing actors. I have since then done audio work for other mainstage productions, dance concerts, choir concerts, Improv shows, etc. in Fall 2020 I'll be attending Fullerton College to study Music Production and Recording
